Sandigan suspends Pampanga mayor

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Sandiganbayan’s fourth division has tasked Gov. Mark Lapid to carry out the 90-day suspension of the mayor of Macabebe town, together with a barangay chairman, for alleged violation of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

The anti-graft court ordered the suspension of Mayor Leonardo Flores and Barangay Batasan chairman Edgar Flores as it granted the prosecution’s motion to direct the two to cease and desist from performing their duties and functions due to their graft case. — Ric Sapnu
