All’s set for Baguio scrabble tourney

BAGUIO CITY — The 6th edition of the Baguio Scrabble Tournament (BST) kicks off on Oct. 14 at the Villa Cordillera, a drive away from its posh sister company, the Baguio Country Club.

Some 50 tile pushers from all over the country are expected to see action in the two-day, 16-round competition supported by National Irrigation Administration chief Arturo Lomibao, Villa Cordillera, and Lexico.

Odette Rio hopes to maintain her winning run with eight titles in the past three years, including two BST championships.

Recently, she ruled the CJH Baguio Day Open, the second leg of the candidates’ match for one of the three seats in the World Scrabble Championship in the United States next year. — Artemio Dumlao
