Dr. Westly Rosario, chief of the BFARs research center, said the mammal is a Rissus Dolphin (Grampus griesus).
The mammal, the fifth largest of the Delphinidae family, was brought to a circular tank at the center and was given first aid. It was the 13th dolphin that beached along the Lingayen Gulf since 2000.
Rosario said the mammal has a bullet wound on its chin and is weak. It measures about 10 feet and three inches (3.13944 meters) in length and has a circumference of six feet and six inches (2.01 meters). Cesar Ramirez, Eva Visperas
