Probe on murder of Bacolod labor leader ordered

BACOLOD CITY Senior Superintendent Geary Barias, Western Visayas police director, has ordered the speedy investigation on the murder of labor leader Sanito Bargamento last week.
The former organizer of the National Federation of Sugarcane Workers was shot dead in Barangay Tortosa, Manapla town by two assailants.
He was the seventh victim of the spate of killings in Negros Occidental since April this year and the fourth NFSW organizer killed since last year.
The other victims were Edwin Bargamento, the victims brother who was also killed in the same area last year, Manuel Batolina and Mario Fernandez. The other victims were agrarian reform leaders.
Perseus Geagoni, also affiliated with NFSW, remains missing since December last year.
Barias has ordered provincial police director Charles Calima to arrest and file charges against the suspects. Antonieta Lopez
