Quezon statue unveiled in Baler

BALER, Aurora — Sen. Edgardo Angara led local officials in yesterday’s unveiling of a 230-kilo bronze statue of the late President Manuel L. Quezon as part of the commemoration of his 128th birth anniversary, in this capital town’s plaza.

"I’m very happy that he is remembered in his hometown. I’m proud to be his daughter," said Quezon’s daughter Zenaida Avanceña, who was accompanied by her son Enrique.

Angara commissioned known sculptor Julie Lluch to make the P1.2-million statue. — Christina Mendez
