P20-M expired drugs seized

-
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) seized P20 million worth of expired anti-allergy medicines for children and caught three persons in the act of changing their labels during a raid in Sta. Maria, Bulacan last Monday.

Manuel Antonio Eduarte, head agent of the NBI’s anti-graft division, said Becia Manansal, Romeo Jingco, and Carlo Bartolome were caught detaching the labels of the anti-allergy syrup bottles.

Charges of violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 3720, or the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, were filed against them with the provincial prosecutor’s office in Malolos City. — Evelyn Macairan
