Regional police director Rocardo Quinto said a very credible witness has positively identified Joy Anticamara, alias Tungol, as the one who shot Pace while he was on his way home last Tuesday.
Elements of the local Criminal Investigation and Detection Group nabbed Anticamara at Junsay Subdivision in Digos City Thursday afternoon.
Police raided the suspects residence the previous day but he was not around.
Police said their witness was only a few meters away from where Anticamara allegedly shot the radio broadcaster.
Quinto said they have yet to recover the gun used in the shooting, although they believe that it is either a caliber .38 or a caliber .357. No empty shells were found in the crime scene.
"The suspect is still being interrogated. We have yet to extract vital information from him," he said.
Quinto said they were still verifying the identity of the one driving the getaway motorcycle.
Authorities are optimistic that with Anticamaras arrest, the mastermind of Paces killing will soon be unmasked. Police have released Jesus Saruman, who was initially investigated in connection with the crime.
