Pangasinan town under state of calamity

STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan — The municipal council has placed this town under a state of calamity due to the damage wreaked by floodwaters spawned by typhoon "Florita."

As of yesterday, the barangays of Matic-matic, Tebag West, Banaoang, Maningding, Ventenilla, Malanay, Tuliao, Bansal, Poblacion Norte, Poblacion Sur and Dalongue were still flooded.

The collapse of the dike in Barangay Maningding worsened the flooding.

Meanwhile, the municipal council of Calasiao town, another flood-prone area, was also set to declare a state of calamity in a special session yesterday. — Eva Visperas
