ILOILO CITY A restaurant owner in Boracay was found dead with stab wounds inside her room Tuesday morning, police said.
PO1 Christopher Mendoza told The STAR that the body of Araceli Hug, owner of Bamboo Bar and Restaurant in Barangay Manok-manok, was discovered at about 10:20 a.m. by waitress Eulalia Mangalay.
Mendoza said probers were still gathering statements from the restaurant employees.
Investigation showed that Hug was stabbed with an icepick. But a local radio station said a bloodstained butchers knife, which the restaurants kitchen staff earlier reported lost, had been found.
Reports said P25,000 was missing in Hugs room, but Mendoza could not confirm this.
