Pangasinan barangay leader killed

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan Another barangay captain was stabbed dead by a former barangay councilor in Barangay Ican here at around 3:10 p.m. on Sunday.
Nicasio Cardenas, 50, sustained a stab wound in the left armpit. He is the fourth incumbent barangay chairman to be killed here.
The suspect, Oscar Cañedo, 40, was mauled by angry residents who witnessed the incident.
The two were drinking with their friends at the residence of one Glory Bugayong when Cañedo stabbed the victim.
Superintendent Leopoldo Rivera, the town police chief, told The STAR that Cardenas was brought to the Villaflor Hospital in Dagupan City but was declared dead on arrival. Eva Visperas
