Airman hurt in Palawan ambush

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna An Air Force airman was wounded when a six-by-six truck he and his fellows were riding in was fired at by unidentified men in Roxas, Palawan last Tuesday morning, police said.
Reports reaching Chief Superintendent Delfin Genio, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) police director, identified the victim as Air Force Sgt. Ariel Ilagan, who was rushed to the Palawan Baptist Hospital due to a gunshot wound in the left thigh.
According to the reports, the Air Force personnel, led by S/Sgt. Miguel Legaspi, were cruising the national highway in Barangay Malacampo, Roxas town when they were waylaid. The armed men immediately fled after the shooting. Ed Amoroso
