Mimaropa police to secure telecom sites

-
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna — The Regional Police 4-B (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) has beefed up the intelligence and manpower units following the string of New People’s Army (NPA) attack in the area which resulted in the death of two rookie police and a government employee while injuring three more.

Chief Superintendent Delfin Genio, Region 4-B police director, ordered a realignment of troops in Mindoro sending at least two company or 120 police personnel to enhance the intelligence and combat units in fighting against the communist rebels.

"I’m assigning people who are experienced in intelligence work and seasoned officers to repel terrorist attacks in our telecommunications facilities in the area" Genio said.

This stemmed after PO1s Roderick Padojinog and Amormio Baticos both members of the 3rd Regional Mobile Group and truck driver Leonard Caube were killed when their vehicle ran into a landmine planted by the NPA in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro last Friday. — Arnell Ozaeta
