Cavinti, Laguna police force sacked over NPA raid

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna The entire police force of Cavinti town in Laguna, including the chief of police and the Laguna provincial director, were sacked over the New Peoples Army (NPA) raid Saturday afternoon.
Newly installed Calabarzon police director Chief Superintendent Prospero Noble said PNP Chief Arturo Lomibao ordered the administrative relief of Senior Superintendent Federico Terte from his post as provincial director in accordance with the one-strike policy of the PNP chief. Terte will be replaced by Senior Superintendent Luisito de Leon, former group director of Regional Mobile Group 4A.
The Cavinti chief of police, Senior Inspector Walter Esguerra, was also relieved and will be replaced by Senior Inspector Melanio Delaganar.
Noble said he also ordered the relief of 15 policemen in Cavinti town and will be placed by 20 personnel from the Provincial Mobile Group. Ed Amoroso
