ILIGAN CITY Police have identified the killers of the spokesman of Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Aurora Cerilles, but withheld their identities.
"We will reveal their identities in due time so as not to jeopardize (their arrest)," said Senior Superintendent Karib Muamil, Zamboanga del Sur police director.
Cerilles spokesman Rolando Canete was gunned down last Jan. 20 by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Kawit, Pagadian City.
Canetes son, who was driving the motorcycle with his father, was unharmed.
Cerilles, wife of Zamboanga del Sur Rep. Antonio Cerilles, has called for a speedy investigation into the killing and offered a cash reward for information leading to the perpetrators arrest.
Before working as Cerilles spokesman, Canete was an independent radio blocktimer or someone who bought airtime.
At the time of his death, he hosted programs in radio stations dxPR and Radio Bagting owned by the Cerilleses.
