45 injured in Aurora road accident

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Forty-five people were injured when a passenger bus fell off a hill along the highway in Maria Aurora town on Monday.

Senior Superintendent Teodoro Saclolo, Aurora Provincial Police director, said that a G. Liner bus with 45 passengers was on its way to Maria Aurora when the accident happened.

Six of the injured passengers were in serious condition and were brought to the Paulino Garcia General Hospital in Cabanatuan City, said Saclolo.

The six passengers were rescued by a helicopter from Northern Luzon Command, he said.

Those seriously injured and presently at the said hospital were Aurora de Jesus, 53; Lilet Mario, 23; Lorna Mauricio, 39; Mario Milet, 23; Melba Tebar, 64; and Oscar Torres, 55.

Saclolo said that the passenger bus tried to avoid a motorized tricycle on the opposite lane but lost control of the steering wheel and rolled several times along the highway. — Ric Sapnu
