2 dead, 42 hurt as bus slams into parked truck

BAGUIO CITY Two women, one of them a sexagenarian, were killed and 42 others were injured when the bus they were riding in slammed into a truck parked along Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet Saturday afternoon.
Vicente Tomazar, Cordillera director of the Office of Civil Defense, identified one of the fatalities as Marcelina Tagaca, 65.
Tomazar said the Baguio-bound Amianan bus, driven by Ronald Fernandez, rammed into the truck parked along Kennon Road in Camp 3, Tuba town at about 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
The impact instantly killed the two women.
Only four of the 42 injured passengers were confined at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, while the rest were discharged after they were given medical attention. Artemio Dumlao
