Leyte vice governor, 2 staffers hurt in mishap

TACLOBAN CITY Leyte Vice Gov. Mimyet Bagulaya and two of her staffers were seriously injured after the service vehicle they were riding in turned turtle when a cargo truck smashed into it last Thursday night in Capoocan, Leyte.
Doctors at the Divine Word University Hospital here are closely monitoring her condition after she underwent major surgeries for the head and body injuries she sustained in the road mishap.
Her staffer, Ritchel Lopez, is also being treated for head injuries, while her driver, Raffy Villaflor, suffered fractures on the ribs. Both are also being treated in the same hospital.
Bagulaya met the accident while she was on her way to Leyte town that night to represent Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla in an event.
The vice governor, who reportedly underwent six major surgeries, is still in the intensive care unit of the Divine Word University Hospital. Miriam Garcia Desacada
