TMG-Central Luzon mobilizes teams to ensure smooth traffic

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Traffic Management Group (TMG) in Region 3 has fielded mobile teams in possible chokepoints to ensure smooth traffic for motorists heading to Central Luzon and far north this All Souls’ Day.

"We have cleared identified chokepoints with the help of various civic organizations and established motorists’ assistance centers in strategic locations," Superintendent Eleuterio Gutierrez, TMG regional chief, told reporters during a briefing of his unit’s Oplan Kaluluwa last Friday.

He said the TMG’s mobile teams will focus on intersections or junctions along the MacArthur Highway such as Olongapo-Gapan Road in Barangay Dolores in the City of San Fernando, and the Mabalacat interchange and those in Barangay Sta. Cruz in Lubao, Pampanga, and Barangay San Miguel in Tarlac City.

Security patrols will likewise be intensified along the national highway and other roads leading to cemeteries and vacation spots.

Gutierrez warned the public to be extra cautious of lawless elements who may take advantage of the situation.

For his part, Senior Superintendent Perfecto Palad, deputy director for operations of the Central Luzon police, said all police units have been placed on alert for any contingencies.

Palad advised homeowners to keep their residences properly locked before they leave to avoid burglars from victimizing them.
