Flor Contemplacion’s 3 sons nabbed for drug peddling

-
SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna — Three sons of Flor Contemplacion, the domestic helper who was meted a death sentence in Singapore in 1995, were arrested by police for allegedly selling shabu.

The Contemplacions were nabbed in a buy-bust operation at their house in Barangay Sta. Isabel last Thursday, police said.

Superintendent Francis Elmo Sarona, San Pablo police chief, identified the suspects as Sandrex Contemplacion, 32 and his 25-year-old twin brothers Joel and Jun-Jun.

A belated report sent by the San Pablo police to the Laguna Police Provincial Office showed that elements of the San Pablo PNP conducted a buy-bust operation by using a poseur-buyer at around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 20 . The suspects yielded 0.09 grams of suspected shabu packed in two plastic sachets.

"We’ve been monitoring them for quite sometime after we received numerous complaints in their neighborhood about their illegal activities," Sarona told The Star.

The suspects are now detained at the San Pablo PNP jail for violation of Republic Act 9165.

The suspects’ mother Flor Contemplacion was sentenced to death by the Singaporean court for allegedly killing Delia Maga, another Filipina domestic helper and the son of her Singaporean employer in 1995. The case triggered a mass protest against
