Insurgents fire at Army patrol base

ZAMBOANGA CITY Communist rebels attacked an Army patrol base in a remote village in Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental last Monday, sparking nearly an hour of firefight, the military said.
Maj. Gamal Hayudini, information chief of the Armed Forces Southern Command, said the attack could be in retaliation for the killing of three New Peoples Army leaders and the capture of four other guerrillas in Sapang Dalaga last month.
In Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, two soldiers and the wives of two other soldiers were wounded when rebels fired at an outpost of the Alpha Company of the Armys 30th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Sangay last Monday afternoon. Roel Pareño and Ben Serrano<
