ANGELES CITY A policeman said to be heavily drunk went on a shooting rampage in front of the main gate of the Clark special economic zone, killing a fellow policeman, shortly after midnight last Saturday.
Chief Inspector Lorenzo Detran, chief of police Station 4, said the victim, PO3 Catalino Dungca, who was on night shift on Fields Avenue in Barangay Balibago here, was rushed by fellow policemen to the Philippine International Hospital but he died while being treated.
Detran said the suspect, SPO2 Urbano Botictic, was accosted by a group of policemen and volunteers led by Dungca for urinating in full view of motorists and pedestrians along Manuel A. Roxas Avenue.
Irked at Dungcas group for calling his attention, Botictic pulled out and fired his M-16 rifle, hitting Dungca in the chest.
After a couple of hours, Detran said men of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Tourist Police found Botictic sleeping in a grassy vacant lot, reeking of liquor. Ric Sapnu
