One dead, 2 injured in firecracker explosion

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga A woman died in a firecracker blast in Barangay Duat, Bocaue, Bulacan Sunday while her husband and daughter were seriously injured.
Reports said that a stock room in their house filled with finished products of pyrotechnics and firecrackers exploded at about 10 a.m.
Senior Inspector Jhonna Ponseca, Public Information Officer of Police Regional Office-3 (PRO3), reported that Editha Sebastian, 57, died on the spot due to severe injuries in different parts of the body.
Her husband, SPO2 Celestino Sebastian, assigned at the Bocaue Police Station, and their daughter were rushed to the Dr. Yanga Hospital in Bocaue.
The victims residence was totally gutted by fire which was preceeded by loud explosions, the police said.
Chief Inspector Braulio Pascua, chief of the Firearms and Explosives division of PRO3, said police authorities here will conduct an inventory of license manufacturers, or dealers of fire crackers in the entire Bulacan province.
Pascua said a team of FEO3 personnel are currently checking the license, permits and other necessary documents pertaining to the safety of those engaged in firecrackers manufacturing. Sebastian reportedly holds a license and permit to manufacture firecrackers and other pyrotechnics.
