September 18, 2005 | 12:00am
Three men, who held up a taxi driver of everything, except his underwear, were killed in a shootout with policemen after a brief chase in Antipolo City early yesterday morning.
Senior Superintendent Freddie Panen, Rizal police director, identified the slain suspects as Ronald Enteroso, 32; Pablito Parado, 31; and Rogelio Garcia, 46, believed to be members of the so-called " Waray-Waray" robbery gang.
Found in their possession were three caliber .38 revolvers and a grenade.
Panen believe that the suspects were involved in robberies and holdups along the Sumulong and Marcos highways.
The police said the suspects boarded the taxi driven by Elmo Revolledo and upon reaching the Sumulong Highway in Barangay Mayamot at about 1:15 p.m., announced a holdup.
After taking Revolledos P2,000 earnings, they ordered him to take off his clothes and them abandoned him by the roadside.
Wearing only his underwear, Revolledo went to the nearby police station and reported the incident.
The police promptly put up a checkpoint along the Marcos Highway in Barangay Inarawan, and spotting Revolledos taxi, chased the suspects. With Jaime Laude
