BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya Philippine National Police chief Director General Arturo Lomibao has relieved the police chief of this capital town for failing to curb jueteng in his jurisdiction.
The relief of Chief Inspector Dionisio de Guzman brings to 13 the number of police chiefs who have lost their positions since the PNP intensified its crackdown on the illegal numbers game.
Also relieved was Superintendent James Afalla, deputy director of the provincial police and concurrent director of the Provincial Mobile Group.
It was not clear, though, if Afallas relief also had something to do with the raid on jueteng dens here last Friday. Charlie Lagasca, Cecille Suerte Felipe
