Gapan holds Tsinelas Fest

GAPAN CITY — This Nueva City showcases its slippers industry, which generates an income of P500 million to P600 million yearly, in a 17-day Tsinelas Festival which kicks off today.

The festival, part of Gapan’s fourth cityhood anniversary celebration, aims to promote the city as the "footwear capital" of the North, said Mayor Ernesto Natividad.

The city’s slippers, mostly crafted in Barangays Mangino, Pambuan and San Lorenzo, have found their way to markets across the country. — Manny Galvez
