Cavite murder suspect surrenders

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna A murder suspect in the killing of three people in Silang, Cavite last July 16 surrendered yesterday to his policeman nephew before he was turned-over to the authorities.
Chief Superintendent Jesus Ame Verzosa, Cavite, Laguna Batangas, Rizal and Quezon (Calabarzon) regional director, identified the murder suspect as David Alcarez, 50, a farmer and resident of Barangay Paligawan, Silang, Cavite.
Alvarez was accompanied by his nephew, SPO1 Norberto Amita Alcarez, assigned at CESPO office at the Regional Mobile Group, and his relatives when he brought to Verzosas office.
Verzosa said Alcarez is now detained at the police headquarters in Calamba City awaiting transfer to the Silang police station.
He was responsible for the killing of Rodolfo Beltran, a farm helper; Jennifer Dinglasan, 17 and Jeffrey Dinglasan.
After 15 days in hiding in Laguna and Cavite, Alcarez sent surrender feelers through his relatives citing that he fears for his life as he was the subject of a manhunt operation by the Regional Special Operation Group headed by Police Superintendent Rodrigo Agojo.
Alcarez first surrendered to his nephew last July 31 at the PNCC compound in Barangay Turbina, Calamba City, Laguna before he was presented to authorities yesterday morning.
