Teachers serving in ARMM polls to get pay early

Teachers serving as election inspectors in the forthcoming elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) need not wait for too long to get their pay.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Mehol Sadain said teachers who would serve as members of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) are getting their honorarium right on election day.
"Teachers will each receive P1,000 or half of their honorarium on elections day and other half at the conclusion of their service as members of BEIs," Sadain disclosed.
"Sadain noted that the money for the BEIs would be given to the election officers to ensure swift payment, unlike in the past when teachers have to wait for months or even years to get their stipend.
"Since the money would already be in the hands of the election officers, our teachers will no longer have to wait for too long to receive what is rightfully due them," Sadain said. Mayen Jaymalin
