False killer whale dies

A 13-year-old female false killer whale of Ocean Adventure at the Subic Freeport died yesterday afternoon after a week of experiencing what appeared to be a gastro-intestinal illness, the company’s management said.

Gregorio Magdaraog, of Ocean Adventure, said a necropsy was performed on the false killer whale named "Hook" and tissue samples were also taken for pathological tests to determine the exact cause of its death. — Katherine Adraneda
