Male sex workers probed for death of DepEd Aklan official

ILOILO CITY — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has invited four male sex workers to shed light on the murder of Arthur Juada, the superintendent of the Aklan Schools Division of the Department of Education (DepEd) who was found dead last week in a resort here.

CIDG regional director Senior Superintendent Jorge Corpuz told The Star yesterday that the four, who are already considered suspects, denied killing Juada, and offered alibis.

Though Corpuz did not name the suspects, he described them as "friends of Juada" and are from Iloilo City.

Corpuz said they are focusing their investigation on a suspect whom they believe had spent the night with Juada at the Punta Villa Resort in Arevalo district.

At the moment, the CIDG is validating the statements of the suspects.

They will also be checking on other people that Juada mentioned in his diary, which was instrumental in the investigation, Corpuz said.

It was learned that Juada had checked-in in two other hotels in Iloilo City before he transferred to the Punta Villa Resort to attend a seminar. — Ronilo Ladrido Pamonag
