3 dead, 7 hurt in grenade blasts

-
ZAMBOANGA CITY — Three people were killed and seven others were wounded last Thursday night when two men lobbed grenades near a store following a fight between neighbors in a coastal village west of this city, police said.

Senior Inspector Vicente Raval said two grenades exploded after a heated argument and a shooting that wounded one person in Sitio Acacia, Barangay Recodo, about 15 kilometers from this city.

Friends of the wounded man retaliated, lobbing grenades near the store and instantly killing a 15-year-old boy, he said. Two other males, aged 16 and 22, died in a hospital. — Roel Pareño, Jaime Laude and AP
