2 killed, 14 hurt in Zambo blast

ZAMBOANGA CITY Two villagers, including a two-year-old boy, were killed and 14 others were injured yesterday when an M203 grenade a neighbor was playing with, went off in front of a store in a coastal barangay east of this city, police said.
Killed were Sami Pandak and two-year-old Junadi Julilahi, said Senior Superintendent Henry Losañez, city police chief.
Pandak was killed on the spot, while Julilahi died while being rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center.
The injured, who included a three-year-old child, were brought to the same hospital and to the Paragas Memorial Clinic. All are residents of Sitio Marangan, Barangay Muti in the citys Curuan district.
Police said a certain Arabi Ladjahon was playing with an M203 grenade when it accidentally exploded in front of the store of one Asalin Pandak. Ladjahon lost an arm in the blast.
It was not clear how Ladjahon obtained the M203 grenade. With AFP
