GRO eyed in Japanese trader’s slay

CALAMBA CITY — Police are eyeing the possible involvement of a Filipina guest relations officer in the killing of a Japanese national here on Saturday.

Senior Superintendent Edmund Zaide, Calamba police chief, refused to divulge the identity of the suspect but hinted that Yoshio Inchimura, president of the Fil-Geron Philippines Private Nursing Inc., a small firm engaged in hiring caregivers, may have been killed by a professional killer hired by the Filipina GRO.

Ichimura, 51, a resident of Cabuyao town, was shot on the head at about 9 p.m. while on board a passenger jeepney along Checkpoint, Barangay Paciano Rizal here.

Ichimura’s business partner, also a Japanese national, told police investigators that prior to the victim’s death, the latter had been living with the GRO.

The elicit relationship had reportedly gone sour when the Filipina sold last year a house owned by the Japanese for P1 million. – Rene Alviar
