BAGUIO CITY A witness in the brutal slay of Radyo ng Bayan-Baguio technician Rogelio Villafuerte broke his silence yesterday and revealed that a Cordillera policeman shot Villafuerte at close range last Jan. 26.
Taxi driver Dominador Darang, 52, told the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cordillera that he was driving his taxi along Leonard Wood Road on the night Villafuerte was killed.
Darang, who claimed he was only five meters away from the scene of the crime, said two men approached Villafuertes white Kia Pride white car, one of whom was Senior Police Officer Marciano Chulyao, who allegedly dragged Villafuerte out of his car and pumped a bullet on his head.
Baguio City Police chief Senior Superintendent Isagani Nerez said Chulyao denied involvement in the killing and is willing to be subjected to a polygraph examination, to prove his innocence. Artemio Dumlao
