Reds kill soldier negotiating surrender

CAMP AQUINO, Tarlac Efforts of 2nd Lt. Jerry Amorado to negotiate a communist guerrillas surrender cost him his life.
While talking with the would-be rebel returnee in Barangay Sapang Uwak in Floridablanca, Pampanga late Wednesday, Amorado, commander of the 70th Infantry Battalions Delta Company, was shot by seven New Peoples Army guerrillas.
The rebels reportedly seized the would-be surrenderer but later dumped him in Porac with the warning that he would be liquidated should he push through with his plan to give himself up. Benjie Villa
