Calamba water district head slain

CALAMBA CITY — The general manager of this city’s water district office was found dead inside his car parked in a isolated subdivision in Barangay Pansol here the other day, police said.

Martin Tangcangco, 48, general manager of the Calamba City Water District Office, was slumped on the driver seat of his Toyota Revo with a gunshot wound in the abdomen.

Superintendent Edmund Zaide, Calamba police chief, believes that Tangcangco’s assassin was not a "professional" since the victim was not shot in the head.

Zaide said they were signs that Tangcangco fought with his attacker. He ruled out robbery since the victim’s personal belongings were all intact. — Rene Alviar
