SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union Ten people were seriously injured when the passenger bus they were riding in plunged into a 150 feet deep ravine in Barangay Banangan, Sablan, Benguet yesterday morning.
Melchito Castro, assistant regional director of the Office of Civil Defense based here, said the driver of the Baguio Bus Line bus, which was carrying 38 passengers, lost control of the wheel when he overtook another bus along a sharp curve of Naguilian Road.
The Baguio Bus Line bus was en route to Baguio City from here when it met the accident at about 7:45 a.m. The second bus belongs to the Eso-Nice Bus Co. based here.
Castro said heavy rains triggered by typhoon "Marce" had made the road slippery.
