Quoting the relatives of victim Elenito Hermosilla Caro, police said the suspect, Carlos Trocio, acted strangely that morning after killing the two dogs in Sitio Sambag, Barangay Macalape.
Trocio proceeded to the home of Caros aunt, Cresencia Hermosilla, to look for a jungle knife and an airgun he had reportedly hidden there.
Angry about not able to find the weapons, he grabbed and ordered Elenito to kneel and in a fit of fury, stabbed him in the chest with the same knife that he had used to slaughter the two dogs.
He then cut Caros right finger, hacked him in the nape and as Caro sprawled on the floor, proceeded to cut off his head.
Seeing the people who witnessed the murder in fear, Trocio ordered them to sing and they did so.
A soldier, who was in the area, responded by grabbing the jungle knife from Trocio. Seeing him disarmed, neighbors ganged up on Trocio and then tied him up and brought him to a police station 14 kilometers away.
Murder charges were filed against Trocio the other day. Freeman News
