Jollibee branch in Dasmariñas robbed

- Rene Alviar -
DASMARIÑAS, Cavite — Five unidentified armed men robbed the Jollibee Food store in Barangay Salawag here of about P50,000 in cash Sunday night.

Diners were also divested of their cash and valuables of a still undetermined amount.

The suspects, who pretended to be customers, barged into the establishment, hit the security guard on duty, Manuel Cadaño, with the butt of their guns on the head and disarmed him of his caliber .38 revolver.

At gunpoint, one of the suspects held store manager Joel Ebron, 47, while three other suspects took turns robbing the customers inside the establishment. The fifth suspect has served as a look-out, witnesses said.

Chief Inspector Antonio Yarra, Dasmarinas police chief, said the incident happened at around 8 p.m. on Sunday.

While police were still conducting follow-up investigation, Yarra expressed the belief that the suspects would be arrested soon following the cartograph sketch based on descriptions given by witnesses. The suspects were said to be in their mid-30s, five feet and four inches tall, and all sporting military haircut.
