Abads wife wins Congress seat

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan The wife of Rep. Florencio Abad topped the congressional race in the northernmost province of Batanes, beating former governor Telesforo Castillejo.
Rep. Abad has held the tiny island-provinces lone congressional seat for three consecutive terms.
Figures obtained from the regional office of the Commission on Elections here showed Henedina Razon-Abad with 3,821 votes over Castillejos 3,235.
In the gubernatorial race, Gov. Vicente Sato retained his seat by beating Jerman Cacam-de los Santos. Sato garnered 4,361 votes over his closest rivals 2,795. Charlie Lagasca
