One killed, 9 injured in Bicol road mishap

LEGAZPI CITY A 54-year-old woman died on the spot while nine others were injured when a Metro Manila-bound bus hit a southbound bus along the Quirino Highway in Sipocot town, Camarines Norte on Monday, police said.
Superintendent Jemar Modequillo, regional head of the Traffic Management Office in Bicol, said that an Eagle Star bus bound for Metro Manila, with license plates TVG-631, driven by a certain Rienrio Cosal, 37, accidentally sideswiped the southbound Ultrabus, with license plate number PYX-675, driven by Alexander Zrasa, 44, of Barangay Panungyan, Mendez, Cavite at around 11:15 a.m.
A female passenger identified as Teresita Tadios, 54, of Del Remedio, Eastern Samar, died on the spot. Meanwhile, Rosalyn Adic, 15; and Mariel Cecilio, 16; both from Lawaan, Samar were brought to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City for emergency treatment while Jovicio Pacios, 50, of Motyong, Samar and Carol Lodeverio, 25, of 1025 of Sampaloc, Manila were brought to the Sipocot District Hospital.
Passengers of the Ultrabus namely Bernardita Ramos of Pitogo town, Bohol; Narciso Arcena Grefiel, 56, of Tacloban City; Bonifacio Mayorga of Leyte; Ricardo Morales, 30; and Gleceria Corona, 67, both from San Bernardo in Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte, were all confined at the Sipocot District Hospital for treatment.
