DAVAO CITY The officers and members of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) have thrown their support behind President Arroyo in the May 10 elections.
"She (Mrs. Arroyo) is the best and only hope of the Filipinos for a stable and strong republic," the league said in a manifesto during its 12th National Congress and 5th Mindanao Area Conference held at the Davao Waterfront Insular Hotel over the weekend.
The provincial board members said they would campaign hard just to ensure Mrs. Arroyos victory, adding they would highlight her administrations accomplishments in their barangay sorties.
Leading the PBMLP is national president Strike Revilla, a Cavite board member and brother of former Videogram Regulatory Board chairman and K-4 senatorial candidate Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.
The league cited the importance that the Arroyo administration has given local government units as partners in nation-building by empowering them to exercise fiscal autonomy through the full release of their internal revenue allotments (IRAs). Edith Regalado
