3 killed, 2 injured in Laguna hi-way accident

LUMBAN, Laguna Three people were killed while two others were wounded when a barangay patrol car collided with a van along the national highway here Sunday night.
Killed were Jose Yanesa, driver of the patrol car of Barangay San Isidro, Pagsanjan town; and his passengers Federico Culajara, 23; and Aldrin Cabreza, 19, both of Barangay San Isidro.
Injured were Ryan Cabuhat, 19, also of San Isidro; and Constantine Mesina, an employee of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).
Investigation showed that a Tamaraw FX van, with license plates PJU-668 driven by Mesina was on its way to Pakil town when it collided head-on with the barangay patrol vehicle of Barangay Maytalang Uno at the national road in this town at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The patrol vehicle reportedly turned turle after swerving on the left side of the road.
The victims were taken to a hospital in Pagsanjan town. Mesina was transferred to a hospital yesterday for further treatment.
