ZAMBOANGA CITY Naval and police agents have captured an Abu Sayyaf leader tagged as one of the planners of the spate of abductions in southern Philippines, the military said.
Yusop Tadah, who carried a P350,000 prize on his head, tried to flee when he was spotted in General Santos City last Monday, but the law enforcers shot him in the left leg.
Tadah, a close ally of captured Abu Sayyaf leader Nadzmie Saabdulla alias Commander Global, was presented to reporters yesterday.
Authorities linked Tadah to the kidnappings of a Taiwanese woman and three of her Filipino family members in 1998, and a Zamboanga del Sur trader a year before. Roel Pareño
