P4-M shabu confiscated in Isabela

-
SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela — At least a kilo of shabu valued at P4 million was seized here last Friday from two men who had been under police surveillance for months for engaging in the illegal drug trade.

The successful buy-bust led to the arrest of suspects Jay-ar Sultan, 24, and his cousin, Jamael Sultan. The shabu was seized inside their hotel room in Barangay Mabini here.

Police said Jamael also used the alias Khalid Omar to confuse intelligence agents.

Superintendent Valfrie Tabian, city police chief, thanked the local Muslim community for helping narcotics agents in conducting surveillance of the two suspects.

Senior Superintendent Nelson Nario, Cagayan Valley police director, said the street value of shabu here has quadrupled because of the stepped-up campaign. — Charlie Lagasca
