Association execs to hold world meet in RP

Association executives from all over the world will gather in Manila for the 8th World Congress of Association Executives next year.

Hosted by the Society of Association Executives-Philippines (SAE-Phil), in collaboration with the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corp., the congress will be a platform to share experiences and explore ways to strengthen the role of associations in society.

Taking part in the event slated on Feb. 22-26 at the Philippine International Convention Center, are senior executives, board members and industry suppliers, according to SAE-Phil, the first association of its kind in Asia.

This international biennial event will be a series of educational and networking sessions highlighting the best practices, successful strategies and latest trends in association management worldwide, all aimed at helping associations become world-class organizations.

Also to be highlighted is the "Associations Make a Better World" campaign, which seeks to promote understanding of associations as significant contributors to societies and economies.

Among the invited resource speakers are former President Fidel Ramos and American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) chairman Barbara Belmont.

The congress will include the annual International Summit, a general business meeting of the 13 national leaders of counterpart societies known as the Global Forum of Societies of Association Executives.
