Son who killed own pa and grandpa arrested

CAMP BADO DANGWA, Benguet A 27-year-old jobless man who allegedly killed his own father and grandfather in Ibulao, Lagawe, Ifugao was arrested yesterday by police authorities.
Chief Superintendent Victor P. Luga, director for the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) police, said that Marcelo Butlong has been charged with double parricide for slaying his father, Pullig Butlong, 60, and his grandfather Ingulon Butlong, 77.
Investigations showed that the suspect, who is believed to be a drug addict, had hacked his father with a bolo several times and hit his grandfather at the head with a hard object which resulted in their immediate deaths. Myds Supnad
CAMP MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City Joint elements of the police and military here nabbed three suspected extortionists posing as members of the New Peoples Army (NPA) in an entrapment operation in Tanauan City and Sto. Tomas yesterday afternoon.
Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Magtibay, Batangas police director identified the suspects as Ronaldo Refran, 36, of Tagkawayan, Quezon; Alvin Tagle, 18; and Wilson Macatangay, 22, both of Malvar, Batangas.
According to the report, the three introduced themselves as members of the NPA and demanded P60,000 and an undetermined number of cellular phones from Nextell Communications, Phils. Inc.
The authorities immediately formed an entrapment operation and arrested the suspects. Arnell Ozaeta
