P30-M ransom sought for Iligan trader

ILIGAN CITY A wealthy businessman here was seized Thursday night, and his abductors were reportedly demanding a P30-million ransom, police said.
Senior Superintendent Rogelio Nuneza, city police chief, said they confirmed the kidnapping of Marcelino Dano Siao, 56, owner of Nema Enterprises, after the victims family informed the police about the incident and the ransom demand.
Police initially learned about the abduction when Pablito Abragan Jr., chairman of Barangay Del Carmen, reported a Grand Vitara with license plate KCL-307 abandoned near his residence. A check revealed that the vehicle was Siaos.
Witnesses told investigators that they saw a red old-model car cruising around the vicinity.
Iligan City Mayor Franklin Quijano has coordinated with Marawi City Mayor Omar Solitario Ali in gathering information on Siaos whereabouts.
