LINGAYEN, Pangasinan Three Pangasinan policemen will be subjected to summary dismissal proceedings after they tested positive for illegal drugs use, Police Senior Supt. Mario Sandiego, provincial police director, said.
In a telephone interview with The STAR, Sandiego identified the policemen as SPO4 Gerardo Ormilla, 50, of Barangay Nancayasan; SPO1 Jesus Labuan Jr., 37, a member of Special Weapons and Tactics Team here; and PO3 Randy Bergado, 35, assigned at the traffic beat this city all from Urdaneta City.
Another policeman, who also tested positive for illegal drugs use was, however, not included in the dismissal proceedings as he tested negative in the confirmatory drug test conducted at the Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame.
Sandiego stressed, though, that he is not yet off the hook.
As this developed, Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Urdaneta City police chief, has issued a memorandum asking the three policemen to turn over their service firearms while their case is being heard.
He also placed them on a floating status and ordered them to report directly to his office daily to avoid possible escape.
