Arrest warrants issued against Cagayan mayor

A family court in Quezon City has issued warrants of arrest against Mayor Salvador Galano of Sanchez Mira, Cagayan province for raping the nanny of his child five years ago and for acts of lasciviousness.
No bail was recommended on the rape case while a P12,000 bail bond was recommended for the second case.
Copies of the arrest warrants issued by Judge Romeo Zamora of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 94 were already furnished to the Philippine National Police Region II Command and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Court records showed that Galano, was accused of sexually molesting the nanny, who was then 14 years old, following his victory in the mayoralty race in June 1998. Katherine Adraneda
