The foreigner was identified as Sang Lee, 33, single, a seaman and was renting a house owned by a certain Ricardo Garcia.
Initial police investigation showed that on Thursday afternoon, they heard a gunshot at the said house where Lee was subsequently found dead.
A former occupant of the house, a certain Eduardo Sinaguinan said that the foreigner had been staying in the house for about five days before the incident.
Probers found a .45 caliber pistol at the scene and a spent shell near the victims body. Garcia said Lee owns the gun.
Initial findings showed that Lee sustained a gunshot wound at the back of his head that pierced through his forehead.
His remains were brought to the Funeraria San Miguel, while a notification would be sent to the South Korean Embassy for proper disposition.
